New version of guidance tool for adults launched in spring 2012
A new version of Adult Directions, the online guidance solution for adults will be launched this spring to help adults who are facing important decisions about their career. CASCAiD, a Loughborough University company, has announced that the new program has been developed to meet the needs of adults in the current job market.
Chief Executive of CASCAiD, Lynda Lacey commented,
“We have seen the highest level of unemployment since 1994, with many job seekers having years of valuable experience and skills. The new Adult Directions tool enables people to assess their skills and see how they can transfer them to different work areas, opening up new opportunities. Additional new features will be added to Adult Directions throughout this year. These features are designed to help adults in the job seeking process, including CV building and job applications.”
Adults can build their confidence by identifying their skills in Adult Directions and seeing how their skills set can be transferred to different jobs. Terry, aged 45, commented,
“I was made redundant and couldn’t find a job in what I used to do. I didn’t know what else I could do. I used the Adult Directions program to help me look at the skills I had and what jobs they could be used in. It’s really helped me to see that I can use my skills in other work. I do feel more confident about applying for jobs now.”
The new Adult Directions program includes guidance to helps adults through the program and help them plan their next steps. A new interactive Career Plan will help them to look at careers they’re interested in and compare them to their own skills, helping to identify any training needs. For people facing the current job market, the new Adult Directions can help them to take the first step towards finding a suitable job.
