Highwood Player Junior School in Nottinghamshire has recently started using Paws in Jobland.
Here are a few of the things that pupils in Years 3 and 6 said about Paws in Jobland:
“I got to find out about jobs where you use a computer. It’s really good because I definitely want to do a job where I get to use one. I’m always using the computer at home and at school. I think I’d like to be an air traffic controller because it looks like they get to use lots of complicated computers and I’d be good at that.”
“I’ve found out about being a lab technician. I’d never heard of that job before. It looks really cool. I think I might find out more about it.”
“My dad used to be a butcher so I’ve found out about what he used to do at work. I think I’d rather be a journalist or a DJ because I like talking!”
I’m definitely going to be a mechanic because I love cars. It’s a bit weird though because there’s a girl fixing a car in here. I didn’t know girls could be mechanics.
“I’ve found out about the jobs at the airport because there’s one not too far away. I didn’t know anything about any of the jobs there before but the airport information assistant looks really good because you get to meet loads of new people all the time.”
“I want to be in the Army, but I didn’t know about all of the stuff that they do. Now I know, it makes me want to do it even more.”
“I’ve always wanted to do something where I get to make things or mend things. There are loads of jobs in here for that. I’ve looked at the welder but I’m not sure because it says it’s really hot. I think I’ll find out about what a mechanic does next.”
“I like finding out about all of the jobs; it’s good to know what adults do. I really like Paws the dog too. He’s funny and helpful.”
“I like doing the quiz. You have to get the questions right and pick the right places. Paws does a funny dance when you get it right!”
