Online Version
The online version of Careerscape should work on any computer provided it uses a compatible browser. The program has been tested on a variety of platforms using Internet Explorer (versions 6, 7 and 8), Firefox (version 3.0 and above) and Safari (version 3). CASCAiD cannot guarantee that Careerscape will work with other browsers.
Some optional parts of Careerscape require Flash Player to be installed. The latest version is available free from Adobe at www.adobe.com Careerscape requires version 9.0.224 or above.
To view the optional PDF/leaflet versions of the careers and articles you will require Adobe Reader, version 8 or above, available free from Adobe at www.adobe.com.
If you have problems running Careerscape even with the correct software installed, you may need to enable Java, Javascript or Flash within your browser security settings. For further information, see our Support FAQs page.
DVD Version Minimum Requirements
- Windows XP
- 32MB RAM
- Minimum 85MB free hard drive space
- SVGA colour display (resolution 800 x 600 and 65,536 colours)
- DVD drive
CD Version Recommended Extras
- Any newer Microsoft desktop operating system
- 64MB RAM
- 1.7GB free hard drive space
- SVGA colour display (16 bit or higher)
- 24x speed DVD drive if running program off disk
- Sound card if using multimedia features
- Internet access (for web and email links)
- Printer
To run the videos, Windows Media Player or Real Player is required depending on your installation.
If using Windows Media Player, version 6.4 or above is required, using versions 9 of both the video and audio codecs. Windows Media Player version 9 or above is recommended. Download the correct version of Windows Media Player for your version of Windows.
To use Real Player, you will need at least version 8. Download the latest version.
